Access to Library Resources
1. Resource on Demand (ROD) Service
- ROD remains available to all members of the UP System and current participants of the Institute’s training programs. This service offers access to print and electronic materials available only at the ISSI Library.
- Requests from other UPD units shall be coursed thru their respective unit libraries.
- Requests for an electronic copy of selected pages or chapters from a copyright book shall not exceed 10% of the total pages—excluding preliminary pages to strike a balance between author/publisher interests, and the research needs of staff.
- Use of materials requested through ROD is subject to the provisions of the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines and the Intellectual Property Policy of the UP System.
2. Online Request for Materials
2.1. Books
- Search Tuklas to check the availability of the books at https://ds.mainlib.upd.edu.ph/
- Fill out the online request form at Request It. You will receive a notification when your items are ready for use. The loan period and other restrictions are subject to the policies and procedures set by the ISSI Library.
2.2. Serials and Special Collection
- To check the availability of the materials, send a request using your official UP mail account to ISSI Library at issi_library.upd@up.edu.ph with the appropriate email subject, “SPECIAL COLLECTION REQUEST” and the required information on the email body. See the example below:
o Name: Juana dela Cruz
o Title: 1st SYOB Completion Report
o Date: January 1, 1980
o Project /Program Manager or Author: Juliana dela Rosa
- You will receive a notification regarding the availability of the items and when your items are ready for use.
- Fill out the online request form. The loan period and other restrictions are subject to the policies and procedures set by the ISSI Library.
3. Access to Physical Resources
- Borrowing of physical resources at the library is limited to UP Diliman constituents only. To search the available materials, library clients are encouraged to visit Tuklas at https://ds.mainlib.upd.edu.ph/ or send an email request to ISSI Library at issi_library.upd@up.edu.ph for assistance in finding alternative sources.
- Once the desired books to be borrowed are identified, contact ISSI Library and fill out the online request form at Request It.
- Requests for reproduction of pages or chapters of the material will be granted subject to the existing rules on copyright and fair use through ROD. Below is the transaction matrix for ROD.
- Requests for an electronic copy of completion reports, participants’ outputs, and other project reports will be granted subject to the following conditions:
– ISSI staff affirm that they will only use the completion reports, participants’ output, and other project reports under the conditions stated in Section 188 of RA 8293 as amended: “Not for profit” and “For purposes of study or research”, and
– Access to these materials (via shared Drive) will be limited for viewing only and will be revoked every month.
